Some evenings call for a nightcap. Whatever the occasion, a service for one or an intimate drink for two is a sophisticated offering. This cocktail recipe was shared as part of my Sweet Nightcap series on Instagram.

While there are many other flights of fancy, I'd like to believe the Rolls Royce Cocktail was designed to satisfy the taste of those seeking new experiences, pleasures, stimuli, and styles. Quality gin and whiskey ensure this cocktail is one worthy of boasting.

The Rolls Royce Cocktail is neat, clean and smooth.

Ingredients

First version

• 4-6 cracked ice cubes into the shaker
• dash of orange bitters
• 2 measures dry vermouth
• 1 measure dry gin
• 1 measure Scotch whiskey

Second version

• 4-6 cracked ice cubes
• 3 measures gin
• 1 measure dry vermouth
• 1 measure sweet vermouth
• ¼ teaspoon Bénédictine

Instructions

1. Put the cracked ice cubes into a mixing glass. Dash the ice with the bitters.

2. Pour the vermouth, gin, and whiskey over the ice and stir to mix. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

3. Enjoy!
