Some evenings call for a nightcap. Whatever the occasion, a service for one or an intimate drink for two is a sophisticated offering. This cocktail recipe was shared as part of my Sweet Nightcap series on Instagram.

Ingredients

• 4-6 cracked ice cubes
• 2 measures scotch whiskey
• 1/2 measure dry vermouth
• 1/2 measure peach simple syrup or lightly sweetened peach juice
• champagne or sparkling wine, optional

Instructions

1. Put cracked ice cubes into a cocktail shaker.

2. Pour in scotch whiskey, vermouth, and peach juice over ice.

3. Shake vigorously until a frost forms, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

4. Decorate with a lime slice.

5. Enjoy!
